Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Workiva.
Senior UX Designer
The interview process can be quite lengthy, involving multiple rounds. It would have been helpful if the job post had mentioned whether they offer sponsorships for HSM applicants. I also observed a lack of diversity in leadership.
- Can you share an example of a challenge you've faced and how you overcame it?
- How do you approach problem-solving, particularly in the context of UX design?
- Could you discuss your previous experiences dealing with difficult situations in your career?
User Experience Designer
I sent in my application online and then about a month later, someone from HR reached out to schedule a pre-screen chat. That first chat was about 45 minutes, and after that, I got to talk to the hiring manager. It was a really relaxed chat and went over the scheduled time. They mentioned there were other people interviewing and that I should hear back in about two weeks. Then, I got an automated email to fill out a survey about how the interview went. I figured that meant the job was no longer available. I checked the job portal and saw my application was declined. So, I guess that's how they meant I'd 'hear something'.
- Can you walk me through a particular project you were involved in?
UX Researcher
The process included two stages, the first interview with two members of the hiring team and the second with a panel of interviewers. There was consistent communication throughout the process, it took a couple of weeks to hear back after each stage.
- Tell me about a time you delivered a successful presentation.
