So over the course of a week, I had my first chat with HR, then a Zoom call with the person who's now my director, and then by the end of the week, I went in for the in-person interview. That last one was with HR, my director, and the leads of two other programs.
- Tell me about a time your professional integrity was challenged.
- Describe a situation where you had problems working with a colleague.
Volunteer
The interview process started with an in-person group interview. Then it moved to a virtual 1:1. Getting an automated email saying I wasn't selected was disappointing. It felt impersonal and like a waste of time.
- Tell me about a difficult situation you faced and how you handled it.
Manager
It was a great experience, the communication was super clear right from the first contact and they were quick to respond. I had two chats with the head of people, one on the phone and another on Zoom, and they both were really informative, giving me a good sense of the job and where the company is headed. Then, I went on-site for the final interview and met with three people from the team. Everyone was professional and nice, asking some really good questions. They also explained the company culture and values, which was great. I felt respected and valued the whole time and liked how quickly I heard back about what's next.
- Can you share an instance where you enhanced a process and describe the outcome?
Social Enterprise Director
The interview process is pretty standard for big and growing companies. After an initial phone screening, you'll move on to your first official interview round. Depending on the specific job, you can probably count on about 2 to 4 rounds of interviews with various people from the company. Every interview felt like it had a good mix, going from really direct questions about the job itself to a more open discussion about the company's mission and values, and how those align with your own.
- Questions will be specific to the role you applied for. It's advisable to make sure you really get the position's responsibilities and customize your answers to highlight your potential contributions if you're chosen for the role.
