The interview process could have been more engaging, but it felt like the HR representative was more focused on probing my past experiences rather than my skills. They consistently asked about previous roles and attempted to extract specific details.

I applied, then sat with someone. We talked about the company, duties, and hours. They asked me some questions. The main thing was if I'd do an unpaid observation day (which felt like a second interview) from 1pm-10pm. If I passed, I'd get a $30.63 stipend. They said I could be hired that day if I met requirements. After I agreed, I filled out a background form and was told to bring ID for the observation day. I decided not to go because labor laws say they have to pay at least minimum wage, and working outside for 10 hours with a small stipend and no guarantee of a job felt like giving away free labor.

They're always hiring, so you can pretty much start right away if you call the office. Your first day is a regular interview, then the second day you shadow someone in the field. It's for the labor movement, so being politically active and caring about workers' rights is a big plus. The office vibe is chill, but they don't mess around with any inappropriate jokes about sex/gender, race, or drugs/drinking because it creates a bad environment.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • The field observation day is the toughest part, as you'll be knocking on doors alone late in the day.

So the first interview was like a lecture. There were six of us applicants, and they went over the job details and the daily schedule. It was a bit of a shock since I didn't know it would be like that, and it made my anxiety spike. Plus, they asked us questions all together. The idea seemed to be to hire all of us if we fit, but it was still pretty stressful.
