Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Wood.
Environmental Scientist
It was a screening call, then a phone interview, followed by two in-person interviews. They offered me the job about 3 weeks after that. I know they move slow because it's a big company, but just hang in there and try to stay positive.
- Have you managed pre-demolition surveys before?
Environmental Scientist
The interview questions were kind of vague and not very many. The interviewers weren't super friendly and it didn't feel like a real conversation. It was a bit awkward and not as helpful as I'd hoped. They couldn't answer some of my questions and didn't really get me excited about the role. Overall, it was a pretty basic and uninspiring interview experience.
- Can you introduce yourself and describe your current role?
- What motivates your interest in this particular position?
- Have you had any experience with boating?
Chemist
I applied online, and a couple of weeks later, I got a call inviting me to an assessment center that was happening in under a week. The assessment center had a group activity and several individual activities, including a presentation I had to prep beforehand. The staff were friendly and helpful.
- Could you tell me about your CV?
- Can you answer some basic chemistry questions?
- How about some more advanced chemistry questions?
