Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Wood.
Project Manager
The HR recruiters at Wood in Milan were unprofessional in how they managed the selection process. What they promised verbally wasn't kept, and I never got any feedback. The time I put into the process was too long. If they improved these things, the candidate experience would be clearer and more respectful.
- Can you discuss the projects you've managed and your management approach for them?
Project Manager
It was a pretty standard interview process. They asked a lot of questions about my past experience and jobs, including how long I worked at different places. They also wanted to know what I liked, what was tough, what went well, and what I'd change if I could.
- Can you tell me about your experience and work history?
- What were your employment timelines?
- What aspects of your job do you enjoy?
Project Manager
It started with a personal reference, then an online application, followed by a phone screening and a phone interview. Then an in-person interview, and a follow-up by phone. After that, it was just radio silence. I know my resume isn't the typical Sr PM one, but I got a referral from someone who was part of the interview process. We had worked together before and she was impressed with my background, so I got invited to interview. The interview seemed to go well and we had a follow-up scheduled. Then, no one was reachable. The interviewers were saying they have a hard time finding good candidates. The hiring managers here are really bad at responding. The whole process took about two months. After that, getting a response was impossible. Someone else I know had the same problem. I think their struggles to fill positions are because of their hiring managers, not the applicants.
- Can you share examples of how you've worked both independently and as part of a team?
- Could you detail your experience with specific projects?
- What were your specific roles and responsibilities on projects?
