It started with a basic HR check, then went to a hiring manager and a panel interview. Even though the first parts were okay, the whole thing got ruined because they totally ghosted me after the last step. It's frustrating to get all the way to the end and not hear anything back, not even a decision. It looks like this is how they always do things; my application just got marked as inactive in the system 4 months later with no word. If you interview with them, be ready for them to potentially just ignore you after the final round.

The interview process was pretty relaxed, involving conversations with analysts and the VP. It was heavily based on my resume, which seemed to be a good match for the role. Having some knowledge of power markets was also beneficial.

An HR rep first reached out to get some background info and asked me resume-based questions to gauge my fit. Then I got an invite for two online aptitude tests. After doing well on those, I was invited to Houston for the main interview. At the office, we (5 candidates) were put in a small room to wait for everyone to arrive. The first part was a 90-minute task to prepare recommendations for a made-up European insurance company, using provided info. I had to present my findings to two quiet interviewers, and I felt like I was leading the whole discussion. Next was a technical interview with more questions on decline analysis, net present value, etc. The interviewers for this part were quite unpleasant. After that, two HR people asked typical questions like 'biggest weakness' and 'customer service examples.' We then had a 30-minute essay section with three prompts: why Wood Mackenzie, upstream industry trends, and my fit for the role. After that, we had a group lunch (with 3 of the 5 candidates) and sat through a company presentation. The day ended with a group project where we acted as managers for a manufacturing firm, solving presented problems.
