First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Wood Mackenzie.
Intern
I got an email from HR to start, then I did a math aptitude test. After that, there was one interview with the hiring manager. I also had to do a short write-up about the area I was interested in. The interview itself had really standard questions.
- Could you tell me what you know about Wood Mackenzie?
- What are your thoughts on water?
Intern
The interview process involved an initial online test, followed by a Zoom interview with the project manager or senior analyst. This interview was quite brief, lasting about 25-30 minutes, and mainly consisted of non-technical questions.
- Can you tell me about your CV?
- What technical tools have you used in past internships?
- How would you assess the potential of a cross-border investment?
Intern
So I went through this 4 step process. It started with a numerical evaluation, then a phone interview, and then two in-person interviews. This was my first time interviewing for a summer internship and I'm a college senior. My experience was negative because of how the company handled things. After a long process with multiple in-person interviews, they said they'd be in touch in a week but I never heard back. I emailed them after 3 weeks to check in and got no response. Then I emailed again 6 weeks later and still nothing. Honestly, even if they had rejected me, I would have thought the experience was good. But they asked a lot of me, the process took weeks, and they never gave me an answer. I wish they had at least officially rejected me and maybe given me some feedback to help me with future interviews. It was a really tough start to entering the workforce. I feel disrespected and confused by their lack of professional conduct. Is this really how companies operate?
