Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Wonolo.
Software Developer
The interview process was very inept. I was given a link to schedule an intro call with a recruiter, but the next available time was weeks away. This recruiter seemed to be based abroad, which meant the meeting time was very early. On the morning of the call, the recruiter no-showed. When I emailed to check in, I got no explanation, but instead received a new calendar invite a few days later. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and accepted the new meeting date. However, the recruiter did the same thing for the next scheduled call, again no-showing and then sending a rescheduled link. I told their talent team so they could improve their process, but I received no response. I'd strongly suggest looking at other companies that respect candidates' time.
- Are you able to meet for a call at the specific time and date I proposed?
Software Engineer
The interview process was quite long and at times felt stressful, but in the end, it seemed like both sides got the info they needed to decide if it was a good match.
- What technical questions did you encounter?
- Were there any questions about your personality or how you would fit with the team?
Software Engineer
After passing the initial phone screen, I had an hour-long technical interview with a director. It started with intros, and then unexpectedly, I was asked to share my screen for some pair programming using my local IDE. Fortunately, I was on my MacBook. I managed to complete the tasks and pass the test cases. The interviewer seemed positive and said I'd hear back soon, but I never did.
- Could you walk me through some standard OOP concepts using a pair programming approach?
