First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Wolters Kluwer.
Software Development Engineer
I was interviewed for an SDE role. First, they asked about my strongest subjects and preferred programming language, to which I responded Java. Then, the interviewer asked me Java-specific questions and some OOPs concepts. Following that, I discussed my personal projects, with a deep dive into one of them. After that, I had to explain code I'd written on paper for two problems presented just before the interview. Finally, I was asked some SQL questions.
- Can you explain the difference between StringBuilder and StringBuffer?
Senior Software Engineer
The interview process for the Senior Product Software Engineer (Site Reliability) role, which is remote, had an unclear total number of interviews. I had 2 interviews, and they were supposed to focus on APM tooling. They mentioned the company uses Grafana, and I have experience in Splunk and New Relic. They said I don't have enough New Relic knowledge even though I've used it for 6 years. I got the vibe they're looking for someone older with a strong coding background and cloud experience.
- Tell me about your experience based on your resume.

Software Engineer
I interviewed at Wolter Kluwer Pune recently. I cleared the first round and then had to wait almost two weeks for the next round, despite repeatedly asking for feedback. The second round was going well and lasted over half an hour when another interviewer joined, stating they were supposed to conduct the interview but had to ask a colleague to step in due to a meeting. This new interviewer asked me about terms I hadn't heard of and spent 10-15 minutes questioning my designation as a System Analyst, asking why I wasn't considered senior. I asked to be evaluated based on my technical skills, and they said they would do so in the next round and asked me to wait outside. After 15-20 minutes, HR informed me to leave.
- Can you explain why your current designation is System Analyst and why you are not considered senior?
