First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Wolters Kluwer.
Product Manager
I was contacted by email because my profile was rare and a perfect match for the job. We scheduled a video call with a senior recruiter. When the time came, the recruiter didn't show up. I tried calling several times with no answer. They called me back 40 minutes late, saying I should understand their delay because they were in a meeting. Then, there was a long, awkward silence as they didn't know why I was there or who I was, even though they had invited me. They scrolled through notes and spreadsheets and said things like 'I think the offer has already been filled', 'I don't know', 'Maybe we wanted you as a backup', 'I don't know'. They said they'd call back in the afternoon to let me know if I should proceed to another interview. They called 5 minutes later to say they still didn't know and would call in the afternoon. I heard back two weeks later; they said the offer was already filled. I've never experienced such a bizarre process with such a lack of professionalism, especially from someone in recruitment. No respect for the candidate. Friends in my network have had similar experiences. It doesn't bode well for HR if the first interview isn't up to par.
- So, why are you here?
- But you didn't send me a CV, did you?
Product Manager
Had 3 interviews with different people, it was a really open and friendly 2-way chat and it all wrapped up super fast. Honestly, this was one of the best interview processes I've been through, no waiting around stressing about what's next or jumping through tons of hoops.
- Can you share your relevant experience for this position?
- What's your motivation for wanting to join Wolters Kluwer?
- What are your future career goals?
Product Manager
I had to talk to 6 different people for this role, which took a lot of time to schedule and prepare for, only to be told they picked someone else. It's a waste of time if they aren't sure about you, and they didn't even tell me they filled the position until I asked. Maybe it's because I have over 9 years of experience in the exact industry and with a competitor product, and they chose another candidate, but this should have been figured out earlier. The whole process felt uncoordinated and distasteful, giving me a bad impression of the company.
