Wolfram Research Software Engineer Interview Questions

I applied to Wolfram online and then saw them at a career fair. I asked about the interview process and was told to apply online. I mentioned I already had, so the person asked for code samples, which I had also sent. They confirmed I'd get a call from HR by the second week of March. I did get a call about a week after Spring Break to set up 3 interviews. The first interviewer asked a lot about my resume projects and some design/database questions, it wasn't too hard. The second interviewer was brief, maybe because I'm not into UI stuff, it only lasted about 20 minutes. He didn't ask about Data Structures or Algorithms but wanted a code sample for a UI project from a past semester, which was easy. The third interview was intense, covering every detail of my resume from start to finish. I struggled with one project but felt okay overall; it wasn't easy and could have gone badly. A good move was asking substantial questions that impressed the interviewer. The last interview was great in terms of questions: two design questions, a coding problem, and an application design question, lasting over an hour. I did well and am waiting to hear back, it's been over 1.5 weeks. Their process is usually quick, so the delay is unusual. Overall, the interviews were okay, but you need to prepare well because you can't judge based on earlier ones. Except for the second one, the 3rd and 4th interviews were an hour long, so expect many questions. It was a good experience, and I hope for a positive response.

I applied through my university's career site and then got an email for a screening interview with a recruiter. She asked me the standard tell me about yourself and why Wolfram questions, and then went over job details like pay and location. A few days later, the recruiter emailed to set up a video interview with a Software Engineer. I wasn't really prepped and think I only got about 75% of the questions right. Naturally, I got a rejection email afterwards. The interview had basic Java questions that moved into JS questions later on. The SWE interviewing me was kinda rude when I asked questions about the role, suggesting I should've already known the details. They also had their camera off during our video call, even though they asked me to keep mine on.

I just talked to an in-house recruiter. It was a really standard recruiter call where they asked me to walk through my resume and then asked a few basic questions to confirm I'm a person.
