Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at WNS-Vuram.
Test Engineer
The interview process had a total of 5 rounds. It started with an aptitude test, followed by three technical rounds, and concluded with a manager round. The technical questions were simple and repetitive, leading to a good experience in those rounds. However, the manager round was a very bad experience.
- In the manager round, please think outside the box for any question, and the question should be based on your designation, like testing or development.
Software Test Engineer
The whole interview thing took about 3 months, which felt kinda slow. There was a technical interview that went for over 2 hours. Then I talked with the CEO and COO too. Overall, it was a really good experience.
- How would you approach creating test cases for different situations?
- Can you write a code snippet that handles reading and writing data from an Excel file?
- Please use screenshare to locate an xpath.
Test Engineer
So the first part was like an aptitude test, and I passed that. Then there was a technical face-to-face where they really dug into my technical knowledge. After passing that, I had a general chat with a manager, and the last and most crucial part was the managerial round. I didn't get through this last one.
- Could you explain what regression testing is?
- What is the bug life cycle?
- What are the differences between test cases, smoke testing, and sanity testing?
