& Process

It was pretty straightforward and relaxed. They chatted, I listened, and then I was hired. It was mostly about my background.

I applied online and got a response pretty quickly. They set up an interview for the next week at their Atlanta office. It was a pretty relaxed vibe, lasted about an hour and a half. They asked about my past experience and how I'd use those skills in the role. A week later, I heard back that I'd passed that stage and had another interview, this time over the phone for about 30 minutes. That call focused on my interest in WK and any potential issues like the commute. Got an offer about a week after that and accepted soon after.

I met in the Columbia office conference room with Lisa, Terry, and Michael. They told me about WKD's stormwater and GIS capabilities, and I gave them my work background in those areas. They asked me to take a personality test online and said they would be back in touch. A couple of days later, Terry called and asked me to come back in to discuss details about taking the job. He and Michael met with me in the conference room again. We negotiated salary and benefits and then Terry e-mailed the formal offer a day or so afterwards.

I had an initial call about the job details and general company info, and how their processes worked. Then the hiring manager set up a phone interview for me, which I had a week later. Three weeks after that, I had an in-person interview because of my schedule with the holidays. The in-person interview included the hiring manager and another marketer from the office. I got an offer pretty quickly and started work within a couple of weeks.
