Technical Account Manager
The interview process involves a screening call, followed by an interview with the hiring manager. Next, there's a tech panel, then a peer connect session. Finally, they extend an offer. The whole thing can take anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks, depending on everyone's availability, and there's a 1-week period set aside for a tech task.
- Can you demonstrate your technical abilities, specifically in cloud environments?
- How would you showcase your customer-facing skills?
Technical Account Manager
The initial screen went well, and I proceeded to meet the next interviewer. This person was incredibly arrogant and lacked emotional intelligence. They struggled to understand how individuals with diverse roles contribute to a career. The interview was dominated by extensive technical cybersecurity questions, despite my candid explanation of my current cyber experience level. It's baffling to interview someone without prior cyber experience and then interrogate them about cyber topics throughout the entire session. It's not that complex.
- Could you define some lesser-known cybersecurity acronyms?
- Tell me about your current level of cybersecurity experience.
Technical Account Manager
The interview process had 4 stages, and I unfortunately didn't make it past the final one, which was supposed to be technical. I got rejected because they felt I lacked field experience, which was weird since my CV clearly showed it from the start. This was after I successfully completed a week-long technical assignment. The last interviewer didn't ask any actual technical questions; instead, they spent the whole hour grilling me on why I was even applying for the job given my background. They kept emphasizing how crucial it is not to lose clients due to insufficient technical expertise on the team. It was a pretty bad experience overall.
- How would you secure cloud applications across all security layers?
