Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Wise.
Compliance Officer
The interview process was quite extensive, spanning about 5 to 6 rounds. Interestingly, the questions asked didn't seem directly related to the Compliance Officer role itself. They were asking product-related questions for a Compliance role. When I provided an answer, the interviewer's response was, 'oh we are not interested in that product.' It felt like they were seeking a very specific, predetermined answer to what appeared to be open-ended questions.
- What additional products do you envision Wise offering?
Compliance Analyst
The interview process started with HR in December 2024. I'm sharing this to help improve the candidate experience, although I appreciate the opportunity. Communication was a bit off; some calls were missed by HR without notice and follow-up on next steps was lacking. Also, some interviews started late by about 15 minutes, and it would be good to get a heads-up if that happens. The process felt complicated with several steps: initial HR chat, a homework task, a knowledge test, a chat with the manager, and then a stakeholder interview. The homework took longer than expected, around 4 hours, and while I get testing candidates, homework, a test, and then a 4-month probation feels like a lot. It made the company seem unprofessional.
- Can you share your experience?
- How do you explain findings to both experts and non-experts?
Compliance Manager
The interview process was great, open, and thorough. John was really helpful and available to discuss every part of the hiring process from when I applied until I got feedback. Even though I didn't get an offer, this was one of the smoothest and most pleasant hiring experiences I've had.
- What is your motivation for seeking employment at Wise?
