First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Wisconsin Early Autism Project.
Behavioral Technician
It was a chill conversation, I talked to a Lead Behavioral Technician who went over the job and what they were looking for. It was a pretty standard interview with the usual questions. They gave me an offer like 30 minutes after we finished talking.
- Could you explain Autism and what your understanding of it is?
- Can you define ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis)?
- What motivated you to apply for this specific role at our company?
Behavior Treatment Technician
I sent in my application online with my resume, CV, and references. They called me the next day to set up a one-way video interview. It had 7 pre-recorded questions. I could take my time thinking and try as many times as I wanted, but I only had 1 minute to answer each one, which was tough because I had to be super brief and direct. A few days later, they called me for a second live interview on Skype. They asked me some deeper questions like, "Can you tell me about a time you dealt with a behavior like aggression, and would you change anything about how you handled it?" "What would you do if a child started throwing blocks?" and "What's your definition of positive reinforcement?"
- Could you introduce yourself and explain your interest in this role?
- What's your understanding of this job, and why are you keen on joining our company?
- Can you tell me about your two most recent jobs, including your responsibilities, tenure, and reasons for leaving?
Registered Behavioral Technician
My interview process took a while because of covid, so I had to reschedule a few times. Then it moved to a phone interview. The interview process was pretty simple. It involved general questions about my previous experiences, asking about my comfort level working with kids, and checking my background knowledge. They also asked about how I would handle certain situations.
- Do you know about autism?
- Can you describe your past experiences?
- What's your experience working with children?
Behavior Technician
It was a pretty standard interview process with questions directly from a list. Nothing unusual happened. They asked the typical questions you'd expect in any job interview. It was quite straightforward and didn't take long because they're looking to hire quickly. It was easy to get through.
- Can you tell me about your experience handling challenging behaviors?
