First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Wireless Generation, Inc..
Project Manager
I began with a quick, not very detailed, phone chat with the recruiter. After that, I had a 30 minute phone call with a senior project manager. This involved some background questions and then scenario-based questions, like 'give me an example where...'. A few days later, they set up a 3-hour in-person interview. I met with an experienced software engineer, the department director, and two senior project managers who led a simulation-style interview. The simulation was tough but helpful for understanding how things work, and it felt more thoughtful than having multiple people ask the same things repeatedly.
- Can you share an instance where a project's success depended on a key team member or external party, but their lack of cooperation put the project at risk?
Project Manager
I got a call from HR to set up a phone interview. They were super nice and asked a bunch of general stuff about my past work and skills. They also shared a good amount of useful info about the company and its vibe, which was cool. Turns out, they don't have a position budgeted for this role yet, which stinks, but we're going to stay in touch because they think they'll be hiring soon.
- What makes you want to work for this company?
- Could you elaborate on your history and experience?
Project Manager
HR recruiter reached out about my resume, asking about my background, education, certifications, and project experience. Next, I had a phone interview with the Sr. Project Manager who asked about my people skills and to share instances where I was mistaken and someone else was right. The interview felt unfocused, and I wasn't sure how to wrap it up.
- Can you share an example of a time you were incorrect and someone else was right, and explain how you managed that situation?
