It was a quick in-person interview. They asked me about 5-7 typical questions. Then the interviewer and I just chatted about stuff we both liked for about half an hour. It was a good experience overall and I'd tell people to apply.

The whole experience was pretty long and tough sometimes but the actual in-person interviews felt really relaxed, more like just chatting to see if we'd get along. It took about 3-4 months from start to finish until I got the offer. There were four interviews in total during that period. This job is super competitive with tons of applicants they have to sort through.

Got my resume forwarded by an alum in early April 2012. It took about a month to get an interview offer. I went to their downtown Chicago office and was put in a boardroom with other candidates to fill out a paper application. This application asked for general info, education details (even high school), and 3 references. It also had some essay questions, which seemed unnecessary since they could have been done online. The interviews were scheduled for 30 minutes each. I met with 5 VPs and 1 credit analyst. The interviews were mostly conversational, like 'walk me through your resume'. Building a personal connection, knowing about commercial banking, and asking good questions were important. They have a lot of ex-JPM employees and want people who will stay long-term. The job was primarily in Skokie, IL, but with occasional travel to the downtown office. I felt the interview went well. I heard back a week later, saying they'd have decisions the next week. After another week without a response, I assume I was either rejected or put in a secondary pool.
