Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Winstead.
Associate
I spoke with a recruiter, then I met the partner, and it seemed like a good interview and I liked the firm. They ended up hiring someone with more oil and gas experience. The only downside is that the hiring / notification process was EXTREMELY slow (it took over 3 months before I got feedback that they were going to hire someone else).
- Can you tell me about your strengths and weaknesses?
Associate
I interviewed with the whole team and was offered the job in under two weeks. The process took a bit longer because I needed to relocate and requested additional time, which they were very understanding about. The interview itself was quite demanding, involving discussions with many individuals from various departments. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, sharing information about themselves and their work areas, and explaining how I might fit in.
- Can you give me details about your past work experience?
- Can you give me a very detailed description of what you did in your previous role and why you decided to leave?
- Why did you want to leave your previous job?
Associate
The interview process was a little unusual. The people were really nice though.
- What kind of law are you interested in practicing?
- What's your reason for wanting to work in this particular city?
