First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Windward.
Software Developer
It was an HR & Coding interview. Everyone was super friendly. They had an open environment and a very appealing attitude. The questions for the coding interview were unique and required creative thinking, which is fantastic because, as a student, being asked for knowledge is a kind of reversed mindset - You are supposed to learn in the internship.
- They provided ample explanation to solve the problem even without prior knowledge, assuming basic knowledge of Data Structures and Algorithms.
Customer Experience Implementation Consultant
It was a really comfortable and informative interview process. After a couple of initial phone screenings, I went in to meet with the hiring manager and then the CEO one-on-one. We talked through the project I'd be working on and specific examples from my past roles that showed I was a good fit. It felt pretty relaxed and straightforward, and I felt a good connection. I got an offer shortly after.
- Can you describe your previous work experience?
- What was your college GPA?
- Do you have experience with HTML and Excel?
Data Scientist
Applied through LinkedIn. The whole process took about 3 weeks until I got a call from another data scientist for a phone interview. After that, I was invited for an onsite interview. The onsite interview was quite odd. The interviewer questioned my choice of living location and made sarcastic comments about my attire, even though it was raining and I was wearing waterproof gear.
- Tell me about your current projects and how you'd handle incorrect results from a classification algorithm.
- If you're given daily stock prices, how would you determine the optimal day to sell to achieve maximum profit?
Sales Assistant
I applied online and then spoke with the CEO on the phone the same day. The next day, I had an in-person interview. It was a pretty standard interview, nothing too out of the ordinary. They mostly asked about my current responsibilities, how my skills would fit, and the kind of company I was seeking.
- What is the reason for your extended period of unemployment?
