I had some issues with communication during the hiring process. Initially, I felt really good about things and progressed quickly. The interviewers were nice and spoke highly of the company and team, which made me want to overlook the bad reviews I'd seen online. After the second interview, I waited for weeks, even after a couple of follow-ups. I was told I'd hear back by a specific date about the final round at corporate. That date passed, and then a week later, I got an automated email saying I didn't get the job. I wouldn't mind not hearing back after a simple phone screen, but not after a formal interview. I know waiting is normal and hiring managers are busy, but the lack of communication and false hope really bothered me. My time felt wasted. I didn't want to believe the negative reviews, but now I see why.

About a month after I submitted my resume, I got a call from HR on a Tuesday. We had a phone interview on Wednesday around noon. It went well and was casual. The interviewer was really nice. I told them I wanted to know about their interest ASAP because another company was waiting for my answer. They called again Wednesday afternoon to say they wanted to meet me in person on Thursday, which really surprised me. Thursday morning I interviewed with two people: my future boss and a senior salesperson. The questions were very general, asking about my experience, why I'm looking for a new job, why I'm interested in this company, etc. After the interview, the HR manager said they'd contact me soon once they decided. And surprisingly, I got a call Friday afternoon to confirm I was hired. Monday morning, they sent me documents with benefits to sign. A week later, I received a 'Welcome Package' from the company.

I had a phone call first, and then about a week later, they invited me for an in-person interview. It lasted about 2.5 hours, and I met the team I'd be working with. We talked about the job duties and my resume, and compared my current experience to the role's requirements. The interview was really friendly, we had a good chat and even joked around about other things. It seemed like a good place to work, and I thought they'd likely call me for a second interview, but they emailed to say they chose another candidate.
