& Process

So this semester, I was a teacher, and it was a really good time for me and the kids. The plan for what we learned was good, and it had a good mix of grammar, books, writing, and talking stuff that made the kids think and be creative. It was cool seeing the kids get way better at writing and understanding things. We read new books and old books, and it made for great talks, and the kids could connect what we read to what's happening now. We did a part on writing to convince people, and the kids got good at saying what they thought and learning how to structure their arguments and sound right. More kids got involved when I started using group activities, like workshops where they reviewed each other's writing and class discussions. These made the kids more into it and helped them feel good about learning together. Next, I want to use more computer tools for writing and reading to help each kid learn their own way. I'm happy with how the kids did and want to keep helping them become good readers and talkers.

The interview process was straightforward. The initial interview was over Zoom and I was able to meet with senior team members. After, I was asked to complete a brief task that aligned with my job requirements for the team to review. The task was brief and I saw the value in completing this as part of the process. After the hiring team’s review, I was contacted and offered the position.

I put in my application online. About a month after the job posting closed, I finally heard back from them. The interview itself went really well, and then about two weeks after that, HR sent me an email.

I got a call about the job, and they told me a bit about it and asked if I was interested. Then, they set up an in-person meeting with the HR person who called me and the manager of the department.
