First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Williams-Sonoma, Inc..
Associate Operations Manager
I had an interview with a recruiter, and then I interviewed with 3 people from the team. They were all very nice and asked about my experience and for examples of past work.
- Tell me about a time a project didn't go as planned.
Operations Manager
I had a phone interview that went well and they said they'd contact me the next week to set up an in-person interview. I didn't hear back until two weeks later, on a Friday afternoon, asking if I could make it for an interview that Saturday or Sunday. I went on Sunday. It was a group interview with the hiring manager, another manager, and the local HR manager. It felt more like a conversation, but they did ask for specific examples. It was a good interview, even with three people asking questions. When I asked about next steps, they told me they were filling four positions for the same job by the following Friday and I'd hear back then. I sent a thank-you email to the original HR rep the next day because I didn't have anyone else's contact info. I never heard back from anyone, not even after I followed up with an email three weeks after the in-person interview. I wish they would just say no instead of ghosting me. That might be okay after a phone interview, but when people take time to interview, at least give them a yes or no.
- How did you confirm that you achieved your desired results daily?
Operations Manager
I applied online and a week later, the HR recruiter reached out for a phone interview, which went really well. After that, I was scheduled for an in-person interview at HQ with the SVP, and that also went successfully. Unfortunately, I didn't get the offer for that specific role because of team fit. However, the recruiter and a personal referral helped pass my info to PB, and I ended up accepting that position. The whole process was straightforward, and the people there are great!
