First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Williams & Connolly.
Information Technology
I had a phone chat with HR, and she was nice. Then I went in for an in-person interview with the manager and a teammate. They were on time and cool. We met in a small room that had drinks, snacks, and stuff to write with. It was all set up well. Later, I met with the CIO and Deputy CIO. They were also very nice. They asked me some direct questions about my work habits and how I deal with errors, and that was the end of it. Overall, it was a good experience.

First, there was a phone interview, and then two on-site interviews with some of the IT and HR folks. They asked some technical and personal questions. They asked about past projects and working with teams to get things done. They talked about the job and the IT department's structure and size. We also talked about remote possibilities.
- Could you tell me about your strengths and weaknesses?
Associate
So, initially, there was an on-campus interview. After that, they reached out and invited me to their DC office for an in-person interview. During the visit, I met with about four attorneys and then had lunch with two associates. Each interview lasted about 30 minutes, and I spoke with a mix of partners and associates.
- Can you elaborate on the information and experience detailed in your resume?
Paralegal
It was an easy interview, and the staff was friendly. They asked about my resume, past experience, and I had to provide references for a background check. The whole thing took about 2 hours, during which I filled out forms with my references' info and other details.
