Operations
The interview process was simple and direct. I spoke with the manager and the owner. Some questions were repeated, but it felt more like a casual chat. I was a bit nervous initially, but it faded as we conversed. The interview felt like one round.
- Can you give me an instance where you resolved an issue independently, without consulting a manager?

Quick and easy. Had a Zoom meeting before the in-person interview. The manager and staff were friendly and welcoming. The store was busy, but the team handled it well with chatty customers.
- Will you work at different locations?
- How would you deal with workplace conflict?
- Are you comfortable with styling tasks?

Just graduated FIDM and was looking to get started at a small boutique to grow. A friend told me about William B. I checked out their website and liked what I saw. I took my resume to the Store Manager at the Century City location. The store felt really good and the manager seemed like she enjoyed working there. She asked me a few basic questions right then and there and we really connected. She asked if I had five minutes and I did so we went outside to chat. A couple days later, I met with her and a corporate person for a formal interview and it was great! The interview was awesome because I could talk to them and share my background and goals and they were really listening. They told me about the company history and their expectations and plans, and most importantly, they seemed really excited to work for William B.
- Can you tell me about your philosophy on selling?
Store Manager
I met with the Regional Manager first, and then had a second interview with the director of stores. These interviews were in two different places. They mostly asked about my past job experience and then went over what the job entails.
