First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Willamette Valley Vineyards.
Tasting Room Associate
The interview included a phone screen followed by an in-person meeting. They were upfront about the role, its duties, and the specific focus on wine sales. It wasn't a difficult or intimidating interview, just a very positive and upbeat process that made candidates feel relaxed and not stressed.
- Given that this service position uniquely focuses on wine club sign-ups and wine sales, are you comfortable with that aspect of the role?
Sales Manager
I talked to my potential manager on Zoom and it went really well. A current employee recommended me, and the manager said I fit the bill. He told me I'd get the job but needed to run it by his boss. I was supposed to hear back in a few days, but two weeks passed. I contacted my friend, and she said that a higher-up hired someone for that role without an interview, which is why I didn't hear back. I found the lack of communication and honesty concerning.
- What does success look like in this role?
Tasting Room Associate
We did a phone interview first, then two in-person interviews. The last in-person interview included the winery director. There were at least 2 managers at both in-person interviews. Appearance is very important.
- Can you tell me about a time you had to resolve a customer issue?
- In what ways do you believe you can add value to our company?
Receptionist
The interview process had four steps. First, a phone interview. Second, an in-person interview with an HR assistant. Third, an in-person interview with the HR assistant and the Reception Manager. Fourth, an in-person interview with the HR assistant, Reception Manager, Winery Director, and the Founder.
- Can you share an accomplishment from your previous job that you're proud of?
