So the interview process involved two rounds. The first was with a named partner and another partner from the department I was applying to. That went super well, they were really nice and we had a great conversation. The second interview was with a newer partner in the department, but it didn't go as well. This guy was really tough for no real reason and made it seem like I'd basically just be a glorified paralegal churning out docs for him. Also, the starting salary was shockingly low, like 50k less than other offers, and they weren't willing to negotiate at all.

I had a couple of phone calls with the office manager first, then an in-person meeting with them. After that, I had a second interview with the manager, the founding partner, and another attorney. They did offer me the job, but the starting salary was really low and they wouldn't negotiate, even though they wanted to hire me.

The office manager reached out via email with a prospective offer. I called her to get more details, and she explained the role's duties and requirements, then invited me for an interview. The interview process was well-organized and thorough. I met the entire Trusts & Estates team, including a named partner. Everyone was very pleasant, professional, and kind. They asked challenging questions and spent a good amount of time getting to know me. The office manager was very responsive and helpful throughout. I accepted because I saw the T&E Department worked well as a team and that the partners were invested in my professional growth. My initial good feeling was accurate.
