The interview process was quite chaotic. It started with a recruiter call that was 10 minutes late, which wasn't a big deal. I then advanced to a second round. This interview was, to put it mildly, hostile. The interviewer was over 20 minutes late, seemed unaware of the role I was interviewing for, and then proceeded to bombard me with rapid-fire, highly technical questions that were beyond the scope of a management position. Even with my technical background, I felt I performed decently given the circumstances. Unsurprisingly, I didn't receive an offer, which I'm actually very glad about.

I applied online and then heard back from a recruiter for an interview. The interview itself was okay, although it was a bit strange because I started the call with my camera on and then was asked to turn it off. Towards the end, the interviewer asked about my location, and upon telling her, she mentioned that they don't hire in that area. While Wikimedia used to advertise hiring in most countries, they actually only hire in a limited number. It's good that they've started to list the countries where they can hire, which should save people some time.

It was a two-step process. First, I had an interview with an HR rep, and then a second one with the hiring manager. The HR rep gave me the rejection and some helpful feedback.
