First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Wieland Group.
Process Engineer
The interview was okay and I had the chance to interact with several key individuals. Unfortunately, I was completely ignored after the interview and never received any official feedback. This was not a good experience for me.
- Could you tell me about your hobbies?
Project Manager Automotive
After arriving, I waited about 25 minutes in comfortable chairs. I wasn't offered water or coffee. The conversation itself was very pleasant and gave me a good feeling. However, it bothered me that the interviewers A) couldn't maintain eye contact and B) showed little interest in my professional background. The questions at the end were rather superficial and purely bureaucratic. My CV wasn't properly read, even though it was very detailed, and I was still offered positions that had little in common with my professional background, both technically and personally.
- Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Product Innovation Engineer
Had a nice chat with the department head and HR person, lasted about 90 mins. Both seemed interested and open. The role was actually different than described, they were looking more for a sales engineer in a not-so-interesting area. It was already hinted during the conversation that I wouldn't take the job, but it was still very informative and friendly. Decision against the job was already hinted at, still very informative and friendly.
- How do you envision your further development within our company?
Engineer
There were 2 interview rounds. The first was informal and virtual, while the second was a formal in-person visit. This second round included a tour of the plant and meeting the team. The initial interview focused on technical aspects like metallurgy and plant management. Following that, there were two sit-down interviews with HR and business development, and a final meeting with co-engineers.
