Copy Editor
The interview process began with an initial chat with the HR manager, which was a pretty laid-back discussion about my background and work history. Then, I had a second interview with the hiring manager and one of her team members. This interview felt promising, and it was the kind of role I'd really love to have. After that, they sent over a copy-editing test for me to do. I figured I didn't get the job when I didn't hear back, so I pinged HR. I then got a generic rejection email. I get that they're likely swamped, but it would've been helpful to get a little feedback on why I wasn't selected – like if the test wasn't up to par, if there was a better fit, or if my experience wasn't quite what they were looking for.
- Can you walk me through your background and career journey up to this point?
Social Media Strategist
The hiring team was super nice. First, I had a phone chat with HR. Then, I had a Zoom interview with the Head of Social Marketing. They both seemed really into my background and potential fit. But after that, I only got a vague message saying they were interviewing lots of people and would follow up. That was two weeks ago, and then... nothing. Total radio silence. It's a bummer because I really liked the company and the interviewers, and I thought their handling of my rejection was pretty unprofessional.
- How does your current job connect to this role?
Coordinator
The hiring process started out pretty good and professional. I had a few phone interviews before they had me come in for an in-person interview. After I completed a project and had the in-person, the hiring manager just went silent and ghosted me. I never got a rejection, a follow-up, or any kind of email or call after the in-person. Then I saw the job reposted on their website. I was really psyched about the role but ended up super disappointed and frankly stunned by how unprofessional it all was.

- What are some strategies that the company can improve on?
Marketing
They introduced themselves and what they do for the company. Then they asked me general questions about my current role and have me walk through my workflow and what I do for the company. Then they asked experience about other parts of my resume and how it would translate over.
