Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Whiting-Turner.
Intern
I had a panel of interviews with different project managers or VPs. They asked what I was looking for out of the internship and about my experience, and basically made sure I was a good candidate.
- What do you hope to gain from this internship opportunity?
- Can you tell me about your past experiences?
- Why do you think you would be a good fit for this role?
Construction Management Intern
It was pretty laid back. They just talked about my resume and asked about two questions. Then I met with the supervisor about two weeks after to discuss the offer. If you are personable and show that you have drive/willingness to work/learn they will most likely like you.
- What draws you to construction management and what are your general interests?
- Can you share a challenge you encountered and how you dealt with it?
Intern
I had a pretty relaxed phone call with a friendly interviewer. The interview was set up through a college career fair for that same week. The call lasted maybe 20 minutes and they were very flexible with scheduling times.
- Can you tell me about your previous internship experience?
