First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Whiting-Turner.
Field Engineer
It was a quick, easy, and simple interview process. They mainly asked interpersonal skills questions. Two interviews were scheduled and I got an offer as an intern. The process was smooth and simple. I would consider going back, but it really depends on the team you get placed with.
- Did you play any sports in high school?
Field Engineer
Whiting-Turner came to my campus for an info session and then held interviews for those interested in FE/PE roles. After an initial screen, I was invited to a round-robin interview at their Irvine office. Three project managers interviewed me, each with a different style. I got an offer letter about a week after the second round.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
- What are your career aspirations for the next 5 and 10 years?
- What led you to choose your university?
Field Engineer
I first met some people from Whiting-Turner at a career fair at my college and they invited me for an on-campus interview the following week. The interviewers were pretty laid back and we had a conversational chat. After that, I was invited for a second round interview at their office in Maryland. I met three people there, two of whom were Vice Presidents. They were all very conversational and asked standard interview questions about my interests, why I'm drawn to construction, and my interest in Whiting-Turner. They also spent a lot of time asking about my resume and gave me opportunities to elaborate on my past experiences. They were also very open to answering any questions I had. Finally, I was asked to return to visit a job site with them.
- What sparks your interest in construction?
