First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at White Cap.
Assistant Branch Manager
The interview process had too many rounds and there was absolutely no communication. So many people were involved in the process. HR didn't have any answers to my questions. The questions that were asked were not relevant to the role, and it seemed like nobody had actually read my resume. It took 3 weeks between each round before I heard anything back.

Product Manager
I had a screening call and then two more interviews over two weeks. First, I talked 1:1 with the hiring manager, and then I had a panel interview with the rest of the team. The interviews themselves were pretty standard, and the team seemed nice and easy to work with. However, the whole process with the recruiter was super disorganized. After my interviews, I was told the team really liked me. But whenever I followed up, the recruiter kept saying, 'We'll have an update next week,' and then I'd just get ghosted. It's really frustrating to make it to the final interview stage and be told you'll get an update multiple times, only to be ignored repeatedly. This experience has totally soured me on White Cap, and I don't want to apply for any more jobs there. If this is how they treat candidates, I can't imagine how they treat their current employees.
- Describe a time you had a challenging interaction with a UI/UX designer and how you managed to resolve it.
HR Manager
I had an initial chat with a recruiter, which was okay but not super insightful. Then, there were three more interviews with managers in the department. These were all friendly chats, but I didn't get a great sense of the actual job. They seemed excited, but after the third management chat (making it my fourth interview overall), I heard nothing back. I followed up twice and got no response, no rejection, nothing. It was a really unprofessional way to end things, even though the people seemed nice.
- Can you describe your previous experience?
- What makes you want to apply for this specific position?
Assistant Branch Manager
Had three interviews. First, a phone chat with a recruiter. Then, in-person meetings with the branch manager, district manager, and operations manager. It was a mix of casual talk and questions about how I've handled situations before. Everyone I met was really nice and easy to talk to. They seemed to have a good vibe, and I felt like they were competent people who would be good to work with.
- Can you describe a time when a customer was upset about the service and how you dealt with it?
