I interviewed for months with Whisker, and while I enjoyed some of the people I met there, the process was not great. After interviewing for months with four different senior individuals and reaching out repeatedly for feedback and next steps—I would go months without even so much as a reply, which still exists. I have no clear answers to where I stand, yes or no. There are no clear next steps. I just ghosted after months of interviews, including providing demonstrated work. It is unprofessional and disrespectful. I have never had an experience like this before.

HR reached out quickly via email after my application was submitted. There was a 30 minute chat with the recruiter. Then I moved on to a 30 minute chat with the hiring manager. After that, I had a 30 minute chat with a VP. The people were very friendly and the interviews felt more like a conversation - I personally had a great experience.

They hit me up on Linkedin. I thought my third interview was the last one, but then they told me I had a fourth interview a few days later via email. After the fourth interview, they said they'd decide by the end of next week. Two weeks went by, so I asked for an update, and then got an automated rejection 3 days later.

Beyond unrealistic expectations. I have over 15 years of marketing experience, startup growth experience, global pet tech experience, I live in the desired state, I was willing to work onsite, and I own a cat. I was deemed "not qualified enough" to continue on in the interview process. Fine by me. Their candidate requirements are clearly not in alignment with the salary that they are willing to pay. Someone should also clue them in to the fact that Auburn Hills isn't exactly a draw. I write this as a warning to others. Don't waste your time with organizations that have unrealistic expectations. It is an indicator that something is not right inside. Of course, my email address has been added to all their communications. Perhaps simply growing their 1st party data was the intention of this job posting all along.
