So the recruiter call was kinda weird, they didn't give me time to ask questions and had to dig for salary info. Then a take-home challenge, followed by a code review with the hiring manager and a senior dev. A few weeks later, another interview with the hiring manager and a different dev because the first one left. They were nice and transparent about being a small agency needing people to wear many hats. Another month later, two personality tests before talking to the CEO about the results and answering personal questions. Honestly, those tests were a bit much. The whole process took two months, and after all that, I got a generic rejection, which felt super impersonal given how much I put myself out there. They really didn't respect my time. It felt like they wanted a lot of convincing about why I wanted to work there and why I was a good fit, more than usual, and didn't seem to get how tough the job market is for juniors. I think finalists deserve a call with feedback, or at least a real email, not just a template rejection.

I was given a project to do, and after I submitted it, I got a call about 4 hours later to set up an interview with the hiring manager and the team. My first interview was a video call, and everyone was really nice and fun to chat with. I felt like I learned a lot about the job and the company afterward. Then, I had a second interview with the CEO where we talked more about fitting in with the culture and reaching goals. This interview was also fun and friendly, and I left feeling informed about the company again. The whole interview process was pretty refreshing, moving fast with good communication. I had a really good experience throughout and I'm excited to start!

I liked the interview steps, and I thought I was a great fit for the job, based on what managers said until the presentation and group interview stage, when things changed. I was asked to give a presentation about a product, which I spent days preparing and refining. During the interview, which they said would be collaborative, there was hardly any collaboration or discussion, which made me feel like I messed up. They didn't require a PowerPoint, but I was willing to do one, and I always give my best effort. I delivered my presentation, and the group's feedback was silent, with minimal to no discussion. Following the presentation, I answered several questions about my background and cultural fit, and I asked them a few questions too. The interview ended quite suddenly, and I felt disappointed, as what I thought was the end of my job search turned out to be just another obstacle. I'm hoping they might consider me for a different role, as I know I have the necessary experience and I am a cultural match. I've tried to get feedback but haven't heard back, and they didn't reply to my thank-you note after the interview. It was quite upsetting.

I breezed through the initial phone screen and got an online interview with a team member. Things seemed fine until I noticed the interviewer was clearly distracted, possibly checking emails or doing other work instead of focusing on me. I felt this was rude. Looking back, I regret not pointing out the disrespect at the moment, as I had nothing to lose. Ultimately, I never received any response, not even a rejection email, which was really disappointing. I feel people should be honest and provide feedback instead of ghosting candidates.
