First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Wheatsville Co-op.
Front End Clerk
Got an email for a phone interview. I replied with some available times and the recruiter, from HR, called me. The phone interview was short, about ten minutes, and included just a few questions. A few days later, I had a zoom interview with HR and the hiring manager. They asked me to share instances where I dealt with different tough situations, such as an ethical dilemma at work, or a time I went the extra mile.
- Could you share an instance where you exceeded expectations or went above and beyond your required duties?
Deli Clerk
I had a panel interview with two people, a manager and HR. They were really friendly and made the atmosphere light and to the point. We talked about my previous work history. It seemed like they really cared about my experience and attitude. Everyone had a great sense of humor, which helped me feel comfortable and be myself. They mentioned a few times that it's a laid-back company and they're looking for top employees who they want to see succeed and be happy in their roles.
- What kind of experience and skills do you possess that would benefit the co-op?
- Tell me about a time you encountered a challenging customer interaction.
Baker
I sat in the back office with the HR rep and the head of the bakery department. They both introduced themselves, and the department head talked about her experience. I was pretty nervous since it was my first in-person interview in three years. It felt like a pretty standard interview, and I think I'll do better next time with more preparation.
- Can you describe an instance where you provided excellent customer service?
Packer
It was tough to get started, but once I connected with the hiring manager in HR, the process became pretty smooth. Having friends who already work there was a big help in staying updated on my application.
- Can you tell me about your experience working with cheese and wine?
