The first step was a phone screen with the hiring manager. That was it, no other stages in the interview process. It involved general questions about data analysis, data visualization tools, and how to present findings to stakeholders.

PhD Student
After you apply, your stuff is reviewed by the admissions committee, looking at your resume, essays, and rec letters. If they like it, you get an invite for an interview, which can be in-person, virtual, or video call depending on the school. They'll ask you behavioral and situational questions about your goals, leadership, and why you want to go there. It could be an alum or an admissions person interviewing you. They then evaluate how you did and how you fit the program for the final decision.
