First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Wexford Health Sources.
Staff Assistant
First there was a phone screen, then an online skills test, followed by an in-person interview. After that, there was a very extensive background check, and also an on-site drug test, physical, fingerprinting, and a photograph taken.
- Tell me about how you handle stress outside of work.
Human Resources
I applied online and someone got back to me within 2 weeks. First I had a phone screen with a recruiter, then I was scheduled for an onsite interview. I met with 4 people for about 2 hours. They asked me basic HR questions and told me about the company, its history and where it is now. Then they explained the role I was interviewing for, the basic job duties and some other details.
- What makes you want to work for this company?
QMHP
It was a confusing interview with two supervisors, one from Wexford and one from IDOC, giving mixed messages about duties and compensation. One supervisor was 'good cop' and the other 'bad cop,' which distracted from the job duties discussion. It felt childish. Later, I realized they were both dishonest about salary and job description, and the chain of command was unclear.
- What makes you enjoy working with this particular group of people?
Director of Medical Records
The interview process wasn't too long. I felt like it was more of a conversation than an interview, with lots of follow-up questions, which was a huge stress reliever. The interview was conducted over the phone.
- Could you share one of your weaknesses and explain how you manage it?
