Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at WestRock.
Maintenance Technician
The interview was like taking a SAT test on a computer. I had to answer questions within a set time limit. It covered personality, multitasking, ethics, and math, with a total of 80 questions.
- They gave me a personality test asking things like how I would describe myself, and if an accident happens, who is at fault, plus about 60 more questions like those.
Support Technician
I applied for the Team Support Technician job through Indeed. About 2-3 business days later, I got a message from the recruiter on Indeed to do two 1-hour assessments for skills and critical thinking. On the same day, the recruiter called saying I passed and invited me for a tour and interview. I interviewed with 7 people: 6 coworkers and 1 trainer/recruiter. I got an offer 3-4 days later. The whole thing was quick and responsive. Everyone was nice, respectful, and welcoming, even introducing themselves even if I wasn't interviewing with them. I understood then what a great company this would be because everyone seemed happy with positive attitudes.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
- Do you have any previous work experience that is similar to this role?
- Are you acquainted with anyone currently employed by this company?
Technician
I talked with the maintenance manager and supervisor. They are really focused on safety. They asked about my background and work history. They also asked if I'm flexible to work whenever needed, but they didn't share much about themselves unless I asked.
- How do you ensure safety on the job?
