First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Westminster University.
Compliance Caseworker
The people were really friendly. Their hybrid policy is supposed to be flexible, but it wasn't very clear. They mentioned it was hybrid during the interview, even saying I could work from home for a week if I wasn't needed on campus. But when they offered me the job, they clarified that they actually expected everyone to be in the office pretty much every day, as confirmed by the manager. So, don't assume you can work from home often.

Admissions Counselor
This was a skype interview with a panel of people. I received a lot of instructions about how to set up skype (I already had it installed but appreciated that they had this information) and every communication I had with their administrative assistant before the interview included information telling me to make sure my image was clear, my microphone was working well, etc. I've interviewed on skype before, and I've never encountered a company who had as many issues with skype as this one. They had a lot of lags, I couldn't see anyone's face clearly, the room echoed (which was distracting at first but I eventually become used to it), and the four person panel used one microphone - so it was hard to hear the two people at the ends of the table even when I turned the volume up. They took turns asking the questions and made sure to leave time for me to ask them questions as well. I would just rate this a neutral experience due to the skype issues, but then they committed my biggest pet peeve of interviewing. They said they would get back to within a week, but I never heard from them again. I sent a thank you email the day after the interview, and a few days after they promised to get back to me I sent another thank you email also asking for my application status - but still no reply. After taking time off work in order to interview with them, and the time spent making sure skype was working well on my side, I feel like I at least deserved an email letting me know I didn't get the job.

Professor of Nursing
You'll have interviews with faculty, staff, and a student rep. You'll also get to teach a class to show your skills. Sometimes there are informal lunch interviews too. I'd advise applicants to prepare their best work for the teaching demonstration and plan to spend a half-day at the college. Come with prepared questions and do some research about the program you're interviewing for. The faculty are welcoming, but bright and savvy, they'll hone in on your skills and intentions, so don't take the interview lightly.
- Could you describe your teaching philosophy?
- What do you consider your strengths and weaknesses to be?
Event Sales Representative
The interview was mostly about my past experiences and my motivation for the role. They also inquired about my availability, specifically my class schedule and willingness to work weekends. Finally, they asked for my self-assessment on personal and communication skills, and my understanding of the job responsibilities.
- Can you tell me about your past experiences?
- What makes you interested in this position?
- What's your class schedule like?
