Two interviews happened. The first was a one-on-one phone call. The second was a whole day event with several parts, including a presentation of a pre-prepared activity and a panel interview with about 15 people at once.

Started with an online meeting with the team, followed by an in-person meeting with the team. The first interview had standard questions for all therapists. The second interview involved joining a department team meeting where I was the focus, and the team could ask anything. Then, a relaxed one-on-one with the clinical director. After that, a team interview with the hiring committee, comprising future peers, using a set of questions. Finally, a campus tour and lunch with the hiring team at the campus cafeteria.

The interview process was pretty typical of what you would find in state government. There was a panel for each of the 2 rounds. I always appreciate the panel interviews. It's a good opportunity to get a sense of the workplace culture and partnerships.

Had a 30 minute phone interview. About 3 weeks later, I had an in-person interview. It started with a 30 minute "ice breaker" with a staff member, then a 1-hour interview with the search committee of 6 people where they asked technical and behavioral questions and I gave a presentation. Finally, there was a 45-minute "open forum" with 8 staff members in the department, which felt like a continuation of the interview.
