First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Western Growers.
Data Analyst
There were 3 rounds of interviews. It took 5 weeks between the 1st and 2nd rounds, and then another 2 weeks for the 3rd round. I interviewed with HR and the direct manager for the first interview, then I met with people from other departments. The last interview was a phone call.
- Can you tell me about your experience managing data?
- What about your experience analyzing data?
Administrator
Began with a phone chat with HR, and I passed. Then I was invited in to chat with the department supervisor. After that, I was asked to come back to talk with the director and manager of the department. They asked typical questions, like if I read the job description, what I found interesting about the position, and what I could bring to it. They asked about my experience with phone/customer service, noting it's heavy, and my email experience, also noting it's heavy. I was asked to rate myself on working with numbers (like accounting/ledgering), Word, Excel, and Outlook. They also asked about my availability for overtime/weekends and my strengths/weaknesses. The office environment is business professional. HR and management were pleasant. I wasn't offered a building tour, which I would have appreciated.
- What about this role sparks your interest?
- How much past experience do you have with phone and customer service?
- What's your experience level with email?
Programmer
I had a behavioral interview where I met with the CEO, recruiter, VP, and other people on the leadership team. They asked me about my background, experiences, and other generic behavioral questions. I didn't get the job, and it would have been nice if the recruiter got back to me with a rejection letter. I even followed up with her after the interview regarding updates, but never got a reply.
- What makes you stand out from others?
Registered Nurse
The initial interview was a straightforward phone screen with HR. Following that, there was a second interview conducted over Zoom with HR and three other individuals. The interviewers were all very pleasant and considerate.
- What are your long-term career aspirations over the next five years?
