I had an initial phone interview with the recruiter who was screening my qualifications for the Business Analyst, Settlement role. Since the company was highly recommended, I was looking forward to the call. It was a casual call where the recruiter asked me about my current role as a senior analyst and my background in finance/accounting. He then mentioned he'd forward my resume to the hiring manager. A few days later, I received an email stating the hiring manager decided not to move forward with my application because I lacked a strong background in fixed income investments knowledge and settlements/fund accounting experience.

HR set up an interview with the hiring manager that took about 20 minutes. It was very straightforward. I was asked to talk about my resume and the college courses I'm taking.
