First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources.
Program Manager
The interview is a two-stage process, but it might extend depending on how many candidates apply and what the hiring team needs. The first interview usually involves general questions, and the second one will likely focus on your qualifications and test your knowledge of the job's responsibilities and functions.
- Be mindful of generalized questions in the first round and be prepared to talk about yourself.
- Know yourself, your values, and your ethics.
- Be aware of the job you are applying for as much as possible.
Economic Service Worker
I had an interview for the Economic Service Worker position. It consisted of 10 questions that were all behavioral. The interviewers were very nice. Three people interviewed me, and each asked one question sequentially.
- Could you explain your understanding of welfare?
- How would you rate your technology skills?
Manager
The process wasn't very involved, mostly just listening to their state operations and what everyone can do. Lots of talk, not much action. The interview ran long, an hour and a half.
- Tell me about your qualifications for this role.
