The interview process for the Frontend Engineer role at One Digital was quite confusing. It started with a phone call, then a cultural fit interview with some engineers, followed by two technical interviews. After the second one, I asked for feedback on my technical interviews, but I mentioned I hadn't actually done them. I tried to explain, but the HR person was really rude. I could barely hear him because the connection was bad, and he started shouting. It felt like a complete waste of time.

I applied via a recruiter and they reached out for an initial conversation. It was mostly informal, checking if I was a good fit and to understand the role better. However, the actual job was very different from the advertisement, so I decided to withdraw my application.

First, there was an Assessment Center with a group activity to check teamwork and cultural fit. Then, about 12-14 rapid-fire interviews, each 5 minutes long, in a loud room with various WesCEF employees like Senior HR and superintendents. They asked everyone the same questions about values, people skills, and tech knowledge, then ranked us. The follow-up was a call, then an onsite interview with the future supervisor to confirm their impression and role fit, requiring specific technical knowledge. Psychometric and safety tests were also done. If successful, you move to medicals, reference checks, and then an offer.

I had a phone interview with HR first, mostly about my background and general questions to gauge people leadership. Next was a chat with the hiring manager, which was okay but unclear about what they were looking for – more of a general conversation. They didn't ask specific questions to assess my technical or people leadership skills. After that, I was informed about a company direction change and the role was withdrawn.
