First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Wentworth Institute of Technology.
Systems Administrator
I went through a couple of interview rounds at Wentworth. The interviews were professional and the conversations were engaging. However, after finishing the interview process, I didn't get any follow-up or final decision, even though I sent polite follow-up messages. While the interview experience started positively, the lack of communication afterward was disappointing. Candidates put in time and effort, and basic closure would really improve the overall candidate experience.
- Can you walk me through your resume?
Library Assistant
I applied and heard back about two weeks later for a zoom interview with two of the main librarians. Then about two weeks after that, I was called back for an in-person interview with all the staff. It was a two hour long interview that included a tour and a one-on-one with the head librarian. I got the questions for both interviews a week in advance. It all took about two months.
No confirmed questions were included in this interview report.
Associate Professor
After applying, I was contacted about 5 months later to schedule an interview with the committee. I had a Zoom meeting with the group, and it seemed to go well. A few weeks later, on a Monday, I was informed about an all-day interview scheduled for the following day with several administrators and fellow educators, followed by a student panel. The next day involved preparing and delivering a 30-minute lecture, then a 30-minute lecture to students via Zoom. It felt like everything went very well, with some students even applauding. It's now been about 6 weeks, and I haven't heard back. They've since re-advertised the position. I was initially excited about the process but was disappointed by the lack of professionalism and poor communication from the college.
- What courses are you interested in teaching, and which ones would you prefer not to teach?
Director of Marketing
I first got a LinkedIn message from a recruiter and had a quick chat with them. Then, I interviewed with the hiring manager who seemed really keen on growing the marketing team and we clicked on strategy. After that, I met the team, and they were all really engaged and answered my questions. I was told I'd hear back in a few weeks. I had to chase them up, and they said it was delayed a bit more. Still no clear answer, so I reached out again. Finally, I got a generic email saying they went with someone else. Honestly, it's disappointing to put in so much time and not get a straightforward answer.
- What are your strategies for modernizing our current marketing methods and achieving market impact?
