Wendover Art Group Interview Questions
& Process

This was a really long interview process. The skill test had way too many edits, like 10, when it could have been just 3. They also made me take a weird SAT-like test. Then there was a 6-hour in-person interview in Tampa, and I didn't even get paid for travel. They never told me anything about salary or benefits, even that late in the process. Everyone seemed scared of the CEO. He was really dismissive during our meeting and kept checking his phone. After a month of interviews, emails, and tests, they just ghosted me.

Applied in early April 2022. Had a phone interview that went well. Then, a video interview with the lead of graphic design, but others who were supposed to be there canceled last minute. Next, I was told there would be a skills test. A week later, I had to chase down the CPO for the test, which had unclear instructions and missing files. Submitted it, and then was given a personality assessment with IQ test elements. After that, I was told the final step, an in-person interview, would be scheduled soon. Another week passed with no word, so I reached out again. I was scheduled for four 30-minute interviews with a specific schedule. Upon arrival, I was told the order would change, which was fine, but over half the people I was supposed to meet were swapped out. I completed the first two interviews. While waiting to meet the CEO for my third meeting, I was informed of an impromptu company-wide meeting, so the rest of my interviews were canceled. I was assured I'd be called back to finish the remaining two. A few days later, I followed up with my availability and received an HR response saying they were not moving forward with my application. They have another job posting up for a graphic designer, and it seems like none of the 60 previous applicants were a good fit.

Applied online and had an initial phone chat with some art consultants from Atlanta. It was a standard screening call covering my resume and why I want to join the company. Then, I had three group interviews back in their Atlanta office. Be ready to hear about their office wine cooler a lot; they're really proud of it. After that, they wanted me to do a 'mock project' where I had to pick artwork for a made-up project. Once that was done, I was told I'd be flown to their HQ in Largo, FL to meet the CEO. Don't get too excited if you reach this stage, though. It's actually a full day of group interviews, and then a quick (~15 min) meeting with the CEO who mostly talks about how much smarter he is than you. (And seriously, clean your office, dude). After meeting a bunch of department heads and then the CEO (who's super full of himself), I flew home. Didn't hear anything for over a month. The consultants in ATL were a nightmare to reach, dodging calls and emails, until they finally told me they 'went in another direction.' Very unprofessional and no one took ownership. Ten interviews, two trips, and zero follow-up. The work/life balance looks iffy, with long hours likely. The 'One Wendover' company culture feels really cult-like, with management obsessed with weekly meetings to push this company mantra. If you're into incompetence, terrible communication, drawn-out interview processes lasting months, and being part of a 'corporate family,' Wendover Art Group might be your place.

The interview process at Wendover was a good experience, with everyone being really nice and helpful. Typically, there are three interviews: two online, one of which is with the department's Team Lead. Then there's an in-person interview where you get a tour of the place in the morning, followed by several meetings with different leaders. Make sure to be ready and have some questions prepared. You also have to complete a few assessments after the first interview, but they aren't too difficult.
