First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Welltower.
Associate
Had a quick phone screen where I met with the hiring manager. It felt like my background wasn't the right fit for the role. The interview was about 30 minutes long, and getting a response back took over a month, which struck me as a bit odd.
- Could you tell me about your resume and past experiences?
- Can you provide some background information about yourself?
Support Specialist
WellTower had this 4 stage interview process and you could get rejected at any point. I made it through all the stages until the very last one. The only advice they gave me after each stage was to just be myself and answer questions like I had been. But after that final interview, I was rejected based on some feedback that didn't even sound like me. It really felt like they just needed to say something to reject me. It was a waste of my time since the feedback wasn't even helpful.
- Can you tell me about your experience using the Yardi system?
Project Manager
HR reached out to me to talk about the job. It was a really easy conversation. Then, a week later, I talked to my potential boss, who was an AVP. We chatted about the company, the role, what the company was up to, and what they hoped to get out of this new position. A couple weeks after that, I had a conversation with someone in a similar role. They asked me some questions, and I answered them. About a month later, I was invited for an in-person interview with a VP and another manager. A month after that, I got a phone call, and then the offer letter. It all took about 3 months. But they do treat their employees well.
- Can you tell me about the company culture?
Investment Analyst
The HR rep was pretty unprofessional. We initially connected and seemed interested, but then I heard nothing for about a month. I actually flew out to Toledo twice for superdays with several VPs. The hiring manager said we'd know in a week, but they kept making excuses for weeks. I finally got an answer over two months after the interview. It was the most unprofessional process imaginable. Other candidates felt the same way about the HR practices.
- Can you discuss real estate modeling and valuation?
- Tell me about your experience with real estate modeling and valuation.
