I received a surprise call around 6 pm. They asked me to introduce myself and talk about my past work. I was unprepared because I didn't know the number and wasn't expecting a call while I was busy with my kids and doing my hair.

It was a super smooth process, everyone was really friendly and they explained everything about the company and what I should expect. They scheduled the interview super fast, like within a week. But, after they gave me the job offer, getting all the documents in was a really long and annoying process. I had to wait four whole weeks from the offer to my first day. Everything had to be uploaded through this online portal with a checklist, and they wanted W-2s from my last three jobs, my immunization records, and I-9 stuff. Then I waited a week for a drug test, and THREE weeks to get scheduled for my health screening in Atlanta. I think it's because I'm contracted through Conifer, who handles billing and registration for Wellstar and is based in Texas.

I was asked a few questions and they showed me around the place. We talked about how I handle issues at work, being late, working with others, and following orders. I told them I like to get to work early, like 30 minutes before my shift starts. Getting to work early helps me be ready for the day. They also asked me about working with tough coworkers and how I'd manage different scenarios. We discussed projects and if I liked working in teams or by myself. I said I can do both but I like working alone more because if someone in the group doesn't do their part, the whole group gets blamed. The interview was pretty simple and the questions were direct. I find interviewing easy, like buying a house or car. You just look at what the job offers and explain why you're a good fit.

The interview for this role felt like a formality because they had already decided on the candidate. I learned this after speaking with the person who got the job, who mentioned they were told they got it but still had to go through the interview process. Some of the floor staff who interviewed me were nice and seemed excited about their unit. However, two older administrators who led most of the interview came across as grumpy and irritated the entire time, and I wasn't the only one who noticed.
