The interview for the CMA role at Wellstar usually starts with checking your application, then a quick phone call, and after that you come in for an in-person interview where they'll see how you do with clinical stuff, how you work with others, and if you fit with what the company believes in. Seems pretty straightforward.

The interview process took a too long 5 weeks. It was a bit off as I was asked for references after the second interview, then had an additional interview a week after I gave my references. The process left me feeling like I had no idea what they were thinking. Even the "rejection" email was impersonal. They could have at least said "it was so nice to meet you!" but it was like they had cut and pasted my name into the email. Interviews themselves were just conversations. I had to sell myself as the questions were not always about my skill set and sometimes it was more them talking about the company and/or the role itself. Overall kind of just a weird experience!

I have interviewed with Wellstar for a few different roles over the years, and it's always been a pretty bad experience. The first time, I had a basic phone chat with HR about my background, the job, and pay, and then they set up an in-person interview for a few days later. When I got to the in-person, I realized they were actually interviewing me for a less senior role than what I applied for. I tried to explain, but they just didn't listen. They made an offer the next day, but for way less money than I was making already! They seemed really shocked when I turned it down. A few years later, they called again for another position. Same thing happened: phone interview with HR to go over the basics, then an in-person a few days after. The in-person seemed to go well, like I was a good fit. HR called a couple hours after the interview to say they'd email an offer letter that day. About 20 minutes after that first call, HR called back and said I needed to give them 5 references and have a phone interview with a Senior VP before they'd decide on the offer. I had the interview with the VP, and she was kind of rude, acting like I should be lucky to even talk to her. Then, no offer. A week or two later, HR called again, asking me to come in for a different position. I went, but they were looking for someone with a completely different skill set. It wasn't a job I wanted or was even really qualified for. The interviewer hadn't even looked at my resume and wasn't prepared. When I explained my actual experience and skills, he just ended the interview abruptly.

The whole interview process, from the first contact to the last interview, was super organized and done really professionally. They kept me updated clearly and quickly at every single step. I really liked that they gave me a lot of details beforehand about what the interviews would be like, what the job was about, and what they expected from me. The interviews themselves were structured well, with a good mix of questions checking my technical skills, how I behave in certain situations, and if I'd fit in with the team. This setup was great because it let me show off what I can do and also learn more about the company and the people I'd be working with.
